popularity of sports channels

Popularity of sports channels Sports channels are popular because it is a cheaper way to watch live sports as it is extremely expensive to watch certain sports live. Such as f1 racing and similar sports.   This would mean that people won’t have to spend as much money to watch sports compared to if they were to see them in person. They may also choose sports channels instead of sports arenas as you would be able to watch it at home or in a setting that was comfortable and accepting surrounded by friends and family. Even with it being in the familiarity of a home, you would still be able to have just as much fun as you would if you were at the stadium and you don't have to spend excess money.

numerical data

Numerical data £20-£30 for sky sports Over6.4 million people watch sports. data for some of the most popular sports: football has a tv viewing of 46% and an interest rate of 45% rugby has a tv viewing of 21% and an interest rate of 27% tennis has a tv viewing of  18% and an interest rate of 23% cricket has a tv viewing of 18% and an interest rate of 19%

Statement of Intent

Statement of intent In my statement of intent, I promise that my products will not contravene any of the set rules that have been laid out by the ASA (advertising standards authorities). I promise that my channel will not promote any products which could be classed under the CAP code edition 12 rule 15.18. This would class as any products which have FSS which is essentially products having high levels of fat, sugar or salt being advertised to people under 16. This would make sure we don’t break this rule and this would ensure that we can continue to produce what we are. My posters and channel will present the youths as energetic and sporty, as anyone can do practically anything that the channel will show, and it would also be able to relate to some viewers more than others due to specific sports, as certain audiences that play said sport may watch it. This will present them in a positive light as they would still be engaging with the programme, and they may start to play sai...

my photos to use

these are some of the photos I may use for my posters as it involves so far two sports that may be of interest to some people.

channel ideas

Information Brief:  My channel will cover all sports, but the posters will likely focus on the ones I have stated up above. Aimed at 16-24 Photo ideas:  I chose these as my inspiration as many people like rugby or football, and I thought that because its sports at least over 50% of the viewers may be predicted to be male so I thought that including a sport similar to their games might intrigue them a bit more. So I have included airsoft (which I have researched and it is classed as a sport) as it will be similar to some of their shooting games as well as having some for female viewers as well and if they want to watch it they can but there will also be equal parts for those who are equestrians or admire them.

logo plans

History of Sports Channels

History of sports channels On May 17, 1939, the first sports channel had appeared.   It was a Columbia-Princeton baseball game at Baker Field, and it was carried by the National Broadcasting Company to the 400 or so sets then capable of receiving its broadcast signal. On 20 April 1991, the sports channel was renamed sky sports, which the original was first launched on 27 th of March the previous year. The sports channel had aired rugby, golf and German and Italian league football which then had to have the rights acquired back to them when they had launched sky sports. However, it was from following the formation of the  premier league  for the 1992 & the 1993 football season, this was believed to have been assisted by the promise of a higher television payment that Sky Sports became well known towards the public. By bidding £304 million, BSkyB had beaten the BBC and ITV to acquire the live and exclusive Premier League football broadcasting...

Sports Channel Analysis

Image
This poster would appeal to the target audience as it’s about a sport most people like to watch (baseball) and its also designed in an intriguing way as the font is very different to what we would normally see on a poster. The composition of the poster is quite unique as well by having the breakage from the ball creates an interesting poster. The colours blend well together and make the poster look more interesting as the picture seemed to have been taken around night-time or around an evening match as the sky matches the stadium being a navy blue which is nicely contrasted with the turf/grass with its highlights surrounding the batter. This might grab the targets attention as it has some well-known sports being displayed as well as quite a few players they might know. The composition of the poster as well is quite fun to look at due to the positioning of the players and with the sports they all play. It Is nice that they have a variety of sports being included. The bold colours ...
