Statement of Intent

Statement of intent

In my statement of intent, I promise that my products will not contravene any of the set rules that have been laid out by the ASA (advertising standards authorities). I promise that my channel will not promote any products which could be classed under the CAP code edition 12 rule 15.18. This would class as any products which have FSS which is essentially products having high levels of fat, sugar or salt being advertised to people under 16. This would make sure we don’t break this rule and this would ensure that we can continue to produce what we are.

My posters and channel will present the youths as energetic and sporty, as anyone can do practically anything that the channel will show, and it would also be able to relate to some viewers more than others due to specific sports, as certain audiences that play said sport may watch it. This will present them in a positive light as they would still be engaging with the programme, and they may start to play said sport. This could hopefully inspire more people to get in touch with some form of sports whether its classic traditional ones or newer unique ones.

For the media audience and language, I would make sure that there was a limit with little to no swearing just in case there was younger people watching the channel with a parent or older sibling. I would also make sure to plan the sports in accordance with times so the people who may be interested such as teens and older would actually be able to watch. I would use colours which represent the basics of the sports or at least ones that would correlate so they know what ones would be playing as well as the obvious titles and such. This would hopefully appeal to the target audience (which is 16–25-year-olds) and I would incorporate a range of sports within the posters as well as the other methods of publication I would use to show the new channel.
